Hi, I'm Bev.
My journey with Christ began at the age of 18 during my university years, marking the start of a faith-filled life. Art has always been a passion of mine since childhood, but it remained a cherished hobby as I pursued a more 'sensible' career path. For 33 years, I dedicated myself to the rewarding profession of speech therapy, helping countless individuals find their voices all around the world.
However, a deeper calling stirred within me. I was inspired to combine my love for art with my steadfast faith, leading me to establish Christian Art Journaling retreats on the picturesque Isle of Wight, UK. These retreats, which I have successfully run twice, were not just events but transformative experiences for women seeking spiritual and creative enrichment.
Feeling God's nudge to venture further, I decided to take a leap of faith, stepping out of the proverbial boat to follow His lead. Now, I am embracing a new chapter, extending my reach to women around the globe. My mission is to guide them in uncovering their unique callings and creative talents, set against the backdrop of one of my favourite holiday destinations – the stunning and culturally rich Italy.
Here, in the midst of Italy's beauty, I am committed to helping women create not just art, but beautiful experiences and memories that resonate with their spiritual journey.
It's a gateway to building a community of women who uplift one another in God's grace and goodness.

The Programme for 25-31 October 2024 (6 nights)
Day 1: Arrival and Introduction
Morning/Afternoon: Arrival and Check-in (Arrive after 3pm) Welcome attendees, provide retreat packages and schedules.
Late Afternoon: Ice-breaking session to foster community building.
Evening:
Welcome Dinner.
Introductory Workshop: An overview of the retreat, introduction to different types of journaling, and setting personal intentions.
Day 2: Exploring Prayer Art Journaling
Morning:
Guided Meditation and Prayer Session.
Workshop: Basics of Prayer Art Journaling – integrating prayers, scriptures, and art.
Afternoon:
Personal Time for Reflection and Journaling. Group Sharing Session: Discuss experiences and insights.
Evening:
Casual Dinner.
Relaxing group activity, like a gentle walk or a storytelling session.
Day 3: Bible Journaling and Visual Sermon Notes
Morning:
Bible Study Session focused on a selected theme.
Workshop: Bible Journaling Techniques – incorporating study notes creatively.
Afternoon:
Visual Sermon Notes Workshop: Learning how to take and illustrate sermon notes.
Personal Bible Journaling Time.
Evening:
Dinner followed by a group discussion or guest speaker (sermon).
Practicing visual sermon notes during the talk.
Day 4: Photo Walk and Personal Exploration
Morning:
Photo Walk with Experienced Photographer: Embark on a guided photo walk through the picturesque landscapes of Umbria. Capture both posed and candid shots, providing each woman with beautiful photographs for websites, drawing inspiration, or cherished memories.
Photography Workshop: A brief session by the photographer on how to take great photos, focusing on composition, lighting, and capturing moments.
Afternoon:
Free Time for Personal Exploration: Participants can continue exploring and photographing the area, engage in journaling, or simply relax and soak in the surroundings.
Art Session: Optional art session where participants can start sketching or creating based on their morning photography.
Option: Visit to vineyard to learn about wine-making and olive oil production and a wine-tasting
Evening:
Dinner.
Photo Sharing Session: An informal gathering where participants can share their favourite photos from the day, discussing their experiences and inspirations.
Reflection and Relaxation: Time for personal reflection or group activities like a relaxed social gathering or a meditation session.
Day 5 : Vision Planning with God
Morning Sessions:
Guided Spiritual Exercises: Start each day with guided meditations or prayer sessions focused on seeking clarity and guidance for personal visions and goals.
Vision Board Workshop: Introduction to vision boards, explaining how they can be a tool for manifesting one's aspirations and aligning them with God’s plans.
Afternoon Activities:
Vision Board Creation: Participants work on creating their own vision boards, using a mix of personal photographs, drawings, magazine cutouts, quotes, and scriptures.
Personal Consultations: Optional one-on-one sessions with retreat leaders or coaches to discuss personal goals, dreams, and how to align them with their faith.
Evening Program:
Dinners and Fellowship: Shared meals offering time for fellowship and discussion.
Testimonials and Sharing: Each evening, a time for participants to share their vision boards, discuss their goals, and provide encouragement to one another.
Special Activities: This could include guest speakers on topics of faith and personal growth, or a night of worship and music.
Day 6: Outdoor Art Techniques and Junk Journaling
Morning:
Outdoor Sketching and Drawing Session – capturing the beauty of Umbria.
Afternoon:
Junk Journaling Workshop: Using found objects and materials to create unique journal pages.
Free time for personal exploration or rest.
Evening:
Dinner.
Showcase and Share Session: Presenting the day's creations, sharing stories and techniques.
Each morning they'll be time to focus on one Psalm with creative activities, reflective writing as you spend time in God's presence before joining the group for further activities.
