Rest, Create & Hear God Again

A 3-night creative retreat for Christian women on the Isle of Wight – 25–28 September 2026

Step away from the noise, the pressure, and the constant “doing”. For one gentle, sacred weekend, come and breathe again. This retreat is a space to slow down, reconnect with God, and rediscover your creativity through art journaling, worship, reflection, and community. Whether you feel spiritually dry, creatively blocked, or simply exhausted by life, these three days are designed to restore your soul from the inside out.

Is Your Soul Tired… But Still Hungry for God?

You love God but feel spiritually and emotionally exhausted.

You long for quiet, creativity and honest worship – not performance.

You want to use your creativity again, but feel blocked, rusty, or not “artistic enough”.

You sense God inviting you to step away and listen.

A Gentle, Sacred Space to Breathe, Create and Be with God

This three-night retreat is intentionally slow, spacious and nourishing. No rigid schedules. No pressure to perform. Just time — real, unhurried time — to rest, create, worship, listen, and enjoy the beauty of the Isle of Wight. Through guided creative sessions, peaceful worship evenings, and deep moments of quiet, you’ll reconnect with the God who knows you, sees you, and restores you.

You’ll leave not just refreshed — but re-centred, inspired, and grounded in who you are in Christ.

When I visited the retreat centre myself, the moment I stepped inside I felt an incredible sense of peace. Meeting the sisters — warm, joyful women from different nations — confirmed in my heart that this is a truly special place. I knew instantly: this is where God wants us to gather.

Hi, I'm Bev and This is
Why I Created This Retreat

I discovered art journaling at 43 during a Christian family retreat. I wandered into a workshop where someone showed how prayer, scripture, colour and creativity could all live together on the pages of a single journal — and something inside me shifted. I’d been a Christian since the age of 18, but I had never experienced God in such a gentle, intimate, expressive way before. I went home and created my first prayer art journal… and my walk with God hasn’t been the same since.

For many years I was caring for children, supporting loved ones with mental health struggles, working, juggling responsibilities, giving out constantly — and slowly running dry. I became disconnected from God without even noticing it, simply because life was so full. Creativity became a lifeline back to Him. When I doodled, prayed on the page, asked Him questions or let colour flow, His presence felt close again. Scripture came alive. My heart softened. Peace returned.

That’s why I’m passionate about helping women experience the same. I believe every woman is creative — not because of talent, but because we’re made in the image of the Creator. When we stop comparing, release perfectionism, and show up with openness, we hear God more clearly than we expected.

I’ve run creative workshops online and in person for women, teens and churches, and I’ve hosted retreats here on the Isle of Wight where women arrived burnt out, grieving or spiritually weary — and left rested, lighter, and reconnected with God.

I’ve been married to my husband, Adam, for over 30 years. We met at university when he was playing guitar at the Christian Union, and his gentle worship has been part of our family life ever since. He’ll be with us on the retreat, leading peaceful acoustic worship in the evenings — creating a reflective, prayerful atmosphere where you can settle deeply into God’s presence.

More than anything, I pray you leave this retreat with renewed peace, fresh confidence in hearing God, and a joyful excitement about using creativity as a natural, life-giving way to walk closely with Him — and share Him with others.

Questions You Might Be Asking

Do I need to be good at art?

Not at all. Every session is beginner-friendly. This retreat is about expression and connection with God, not artistic skill.

I’m coming alone. Will I feel awkward?

Most women come alone — and within an hour, you’ll feel welcomed and safe. It’s a very gentle, friendly group.

Is the accommodation basic?

Yes — simple, peaceful and run by a small community of international missionary nuns. The simplicity is part of the rest and spiritual calm.

Are the nuns involved in the retreat?

Not in the teaching or creative sessions, no. But their presence shapes the whole atmosphere in the most gentle way. The sisters have a beautiful servant-hearted approach — they prepare all the home-cooked meals, take great care with food allergies and dietary needs, and quietly hold the space with prayer and hospitality. Their warmth, joy and humility add to the peace you’ll feel throughout the weekend.

What if I need to cancel?

Your £200 deposit is non-refundable. If you are on a payment plan and circumstances change, just email us — we’ll support you with next steps.

Do I need to bring art supplies?

No. Everything you need is provided. If you have favourite pens or journals, you’re welcome to bring them.

What will the group be like?

Gentle, friendly Christian women who are hungry for rest, creativity and a deeper connection with God.

Is this suitable if I’m feeling anxious, overwhelmed or spiritually dry?

Absolutely — that’s exactly who this retreat is designed for.

I haven’t been to church for a while… or I’m not part of a church at all. Is this suitable for me?

Yes — absolutely. Many women who come on this retreat are on their own gentle faith journey. Some feel disconnected from church, some are rebuilding their relationship with God, and some are exploring faith for the first time in years.

This weekend is Christian at its heart — we will open the Bible together, reflect on scripture, journal with God, and create from a place of prayer. But there’s no pressure to have everything “together” spiritually. You don’t need to know the Bible well, be part of a church, or use any particular language of faith.

You’re welcome to come exactly as you are.
If you’re hungry for peace, curious about God, longing for connection or simply needing rest, you’ll feel gently held and completely at home here.

If your heart is whispering, “I need this,” trust that nudge.

So many Christian women come to this retreat not because life is easy, but because they’re tired, stretched thin, carrying responsibilities, or longing to feel close to God again. If something in you is craving rest, creativity, peace, or a deeper connection with Him… this weekend is for you.

You don’t need to be an artist.
You don’t need to have it all together spiritually.
You don’t even need to know exactly why you feel drawn to come.

Just come as you are.
Let God meet you in this quiet, beautiful place.
