1. Purpose
These Terms and Conditions outline what is expected of you as a participant and of Creative Sanctuary as the organiser. They exist to ensure clarity, fairness, and a safe, enjoyable retreat experience for all guests. By making a booking or payment, you agree to these terms.
Retreat dates, venue, location, and full itinerary details are clearly stated on the retreat sales page at the time of booking. Please read the sales page carefully before purchasing.
We strongly advise all guests to take out comprehensive travel insurance to cover cancellation, illness, travel disruption, and personal belongings.
2. Retreat Details
Specific retreat dates, venue, location, and pricing are confirmed on the retreat sales page at the time of booking. Details may vary between retreats. Your booking confirmation email will include all relevant information specific to your retreat.
3. Booking & Payment
A non-refundable £100 deposit is required to secure your place. Your booking is confirmed only once your deposit has been received and a confirmation email issued.
Three payment options are available:
New to Creative Sanctuary — Pay in Full Full retreat price as stated on the sales page, inclusive of three months free Creative Sanctuary membership.
New to Creative Sanctuary — Payment Plan £100 deposit, followed by three equal monthly payments as stated on the sales page. Inclusive of three months free Creative Sanctuary membership. All payments must be completed within three months of booking.
Existing Creative Sanctuary Members — Pay in Full Reduced retreat price as stated on the sales page (retreat experience only — you're already part of our community).
Existing Creative Sanctuary Members — Payment Plan £100 deposit, followed by three equal monthly payments as stated on the sales page. All payments must be completed within three months of booking.
All payments are processed securely via GoHighLevel. Prices are per person and inclusive of accommodation, meals, creative workshops, art materials, and scheduled activities as listed in the "What's Included" section of the retreat sales page.
4. What's Included
The full list of what is included in your retreat is clearly stated on the retreat sales page. Generally this includes:
✅ Accommodation for the duration of the retreat at a carefully chosen venue
✅ All meals as specified on the sales page
✅ Guided art workshops — the Spirit-Led Sketch Method, watercolour, gold paint, and creative techniques
✅ All creative materials — watercolour paper, paints, brushes, gold leaf, and sketchbooks
✅ Guided creative excursions to local landmarks and landscapes as detailed on the sales page ✅ A personalised Creative Sanctuary retreat gift bag
✅ A keepsake watercolour artwork to take home
✅ Closing worship, prayer, and reflection time
✅ Three months free Creative Sanctuary membership (new members only)
Specific inclusions may vary between retreats and will always be clearly stated on the relevant sales page.
5. What's Not Included
The following are not included in your retreat price and remain your responsibility:
Travel to and from your home to the retreat destination
Any ferry crossings or transport to the retreat location
Transport from any travel terminal to the venue (please arrange your own taxi or transfer)
Any meals or refreshments purchased outside the scheduled retreat meals
Personal items, gifts, or souvenirs purchased during excursions
Tips or gratuities
6. Travel & Arrival
Arrival time, departure time, and venue address will be confirmed in your booking confirmation email and on the retreat sales page.
Travel to and from the retreat venue is entirely your responsibility. Please ensure you have made all necessary travel arrangements before your booking is confirmed.
7. Accommodation
Your retreat venue will be a carefully chosen, beautifully appointed property as described on the retreat sales page. Bed configurations, room types, and facilities will vary between venues and will be clearly described on the sales page.
Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bedding and towels are provided. Please bring your own toiletries.
You agree to take reasonable care of the property and its contents during your stay.
8. Meals & Dietary Needs
All meals are freshly prepared, home-cooked, and designed to be nourishing and comforting. Tea, coffee, and snacks are available throughout the day.
Specific meals included will be stated on the retreat sales page.
Please advise us of any dietary requirements, allergies, or intolerances at least four weeks before arrival. While we will always do our best to accommodate special requests, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
9. Cancellations & Transfers
Your £100 deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances.
Cancellations made:
60+ days before the retreat: your deposit may be transferred to another person or credited towards a future retreat
30–59 days before: 50% refund of any balance paid beyond the deposit
Under 30 days: no refund; however you may gift or transfer your place to another person
If Creative Sanctuary must cancel the retreat due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. illness, venue unavailability, or legal restrictions), all guests will receive a full refund or credit towards a future retreat. Refunds will be processed within 14 days.
10. Changes by the Organiser
Creative Sanctuary reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the retreat prior to or during your stay. This may include changes to facilitators, itinerary, accommodation, or scheduled activities due to circumstances beyond our control such as illness, weather, or travel disruptions.
Where changes are necessary, we will communicate them promptly and always aim to maintain the integrity and value of your retreat experience.
11. Health, Safety & Conduct
You attend the retreat at your own risk and are responsible for your own wellbeing throughout.
Please inform us of any medical conditions, mobility needs, or accessibility requirements before the retreat so we can support you appropriately.
All activities — creative workshops, reflective sessions, and outdoor excursions — are entirely voluntary. Please honour your own body and its limits.
Guests are expected to maintain a respectful, inclusive, and faith-filled atmosphere throughout the retreat. Any behaviour that disrupts the safety or wellbeing of others may result in removal from the retreat without refund.
Smoking and illegal substances are strictly prohibited on the property.
12. Photography & Privacy
Photos and videos may be taken during the retreat for use in our online community and marketing materials.
If you prefer not to appear in any photographs or videos used for marketing purposes, please notify us in writing before arrival and we will respect your preference.
Personal artwork or journal reflections shared during workshops will remain entirely private and will never be used or shared without your explicit written consent.
13. Disrupted Travel & Insurance
It is your responsibility to ensure you have valid travel arrangements and comprehensive travel insurance before departing for the retreat.
Creative Sanctuary is not liable for missed connections, travel delays, or any costs arising from travel disruption.
Your travel insurance should cover cancellation, illness, injury, and other unforeseen events.
14. Liability Disclaimer
Creative Sanctuary and its organisers are not responsible for:
Lost, damaged, or stolen personal belongings
Injury or illness sustained during the retreat
Travel disruption outside our control
Schedule or facilitator changes due to unforeseen circumstances
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. By booking, you agree to release the organisers from liability beyond the retreat fee paid.
15. Force Majeure
In the event of circumstances entirely beyond our control — including natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, or venue closure — Creative Sanctuary may offer a transfer to a future retreat or a partial refund at our discretion. No additional compensation will be payable.
16. Creative Sanctuary Membership
For new Creative Sanctuary members, your three months free membership begins immediately upon payment confirmation — giving you access to our online community, teaching videos, prayer resources, and creative prompts before, during, and after the retreat.
After three months, membership continues at £27 per month. You may cancel at any time with no penalty.
Existing Creative Sanctuary members receive the retreat experience at a reduced rate as their membership is already active.
17. What to Bring
Comfortable clothing for creative work and outdoor exploration
Layers and a light jacket suitable for the season and location
Comfortable walking shoes or boots
Your Bible or spiritual journal if you use one
Personal toiletries and any required medications
An open heart and willingness to create
All art materials and creative supplies are provided — please do not bring your own unless you have a specific preference.
18. How We Use Your Information
We will only use your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, available at christianartjournaling.com. We do not sell or share guest data with third parties. You may opt in or out of receiving future updates at any time.
19. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
