Hi, I'm Bev.
I spent 34 years as a speech therapist. I was a church-going, Bible-reading woman who felt completely disconnected from God.
And then one day God said something unexpected to me: "Paint a bruise."
I had no idea what that meant. But I picked up my brush and I started.
In that moment, creativity became prayer. And everything changed.
That experience became the foundation of Creative Sanctuary — a faith community where women reconnect with God through art journaling.
Not an art class. A sanctuary.

Frequently asked questions
I’m not artistic — I can’t even draw a stick man. Is this for me?
That’s perfectly fine. The goal is expression, prayer and reflection, not artistic perfection. Many participants are surprised at how freeing it feels to simply doodle and respond to God on the page.
I’m not really a Christian (or I’m still figuring out faith). Is this for me?
Yes. Many members describe themselves as “on a journey.” Everything inside points gently towards God through creativity. There’s no pressure, no judgement — just invitations. You’ll find encouragement whether you already follow Jesus, are curious about Him, or simply want a peaceful, creative outlet.
I don’t have much time — what if I can’t keep up?
Replays + 10-minute prompts. Your rhythm, not rules.
I don’t have a printer—can I still use the journals and resources?
Absolutely! View on phone/tablet; print later if you want.
I’ve tried memberships before and never kept up. Won’t this be the same?
Not at all. The Creative Sanctuary isn’t about “keeping up,” it’s about showing up.

When will my art kit arrive?
Your art kit will be carefully prepared and posted after your order. Please allow up to 14 days for delivery as each kit is assembled and shipped to you. Many arrive sooner, but we like to give a realistic timeframe so you know what to expect.
Do I have to wait for the kit before I begin?
No. You can begin the Spirit-Led Sketch method with any notebook and pen you already have at home. The kit simply makes the experience more special and convenient.
Is the workshop suitable for beginners?
Yes. The workshop is designed to be gentle, reflective and beginner-friendly. Bev will guide you step-by-step through the process, so you’ll never feel lost.
